Two separate groups have joined forces to provide support and resources to vulnerable people in Berwick.
Lauretta’s Cares and the Friends of Berwick and District Community Links, which are both part of the Sussex Coast Community Fund, have teamed up to provide advice and support to the borough’s most vulnerable residents, in particular those suffering from addiction and mental health problems.
The Friends group supports local clubs, companies and other groups to help improve health and well-being in the area, while Lauteas Cares provides free information and advice.
Jamie Green, organiser of the Friends group, said: “We are so pleased to have joined forces with Lauteas Cares in order to target those most vulnerable in our community.
“To be involved with making a difference, it is important to us that the resources come from the community and that people are involved as much as possible.”
Lauretta’s Cares member Kathryn Stephens-Smith added: “There are so many people in the community who aren’t able to get the help they deserve.
“We’re really grateful to the community for their support and the work we’re able to do to help people in our community.”
