The following are some of the essential tips and tools. Basic Working with a Hard Drive and a Portable Drive 1. Create a Backup To make sure your important files are always safe, save your images to external hard drive when you edit images in Photoshop. Make a backup of your original image to the external hard drive using the Export function. After you are done editing the image, import your image and overwrite the original in the same folder. A major advantage of using a portable hard drive is that you can easily carry your images and your work around from computer to computer. The drive can be plugged into the computer using USB or FireWire and you can carry your images anywhere and edit them as needed. To back up your files, open the Portable Hard Drive on your computer to see the files saved and accessible on your system. Note that it will not work for the images saved in the Temporary Files folder. To back up your files, save them to a drive that is physically connected to your computer. However, when you are using the software, it is difficult to edit the files on the Portable Hard Drive. If you are using it as an add-on, use it only for storing your files. Once you have created a backup, save your files to a place where no one else has access to them. 2. Convert Files to RGB or CMYK Photoshop needs to be working in RGB format to edit and use images. To convert a file to RGB, open a file and go to Edit > Convert to RGB Colorspace. However, there are some reasons why you might prefer to use a color space like Adobe CMYK. You might not have the original files ready to use in RGB color space. You may want to print your images in CMYK and they may require some adjustments. 2. Open a New Photoshop Document To open a new Photoshop document you go to File > New If you have a file already open in Photoshop, go to File > Open. Photoshop will prompt you to choose a document type. Choose Photoshop Document. If you have a file already open in Photoshop and want to change the setting, go to File > Properties. 3. Create a New Layer in a Layer Panel Most images have several different layers on them. Photoshop may ask you to select layers before you create a

Pulmonary vein isolation and radiofrequency ablation of the atrial focus. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common heart rhythm disorder, which develops from and is sustained by reentrant circuits within the atria. Pulmonary vein isolation and catheter-based ablation of the pulmonary vein-atrio-nodal (PVAN) junction have been established as effective curative methods of AF. However, the rate of recurrences and maintenance of sinus rhythm following PVAN ablation remains in need of improvement. The origin of reentry of AF is conventionally thought to be the PVAN junction, which is the site of AF initiation and propagation. However, it has also been proposed that the pulmonary vein itself might be the foci of atrial reentrant activity. In the present study, we characterized the atrial automaticity as a potential cause of AF in the intact atria, and examined the hypothesis that the pulmonary vein laminar pulmonary vein junction was the true origin of AF by direct surgical and endoscopic ablation procedures on the pulmonary veins in high-risk patients with paroxysmal AF. Our recent study showed that a preserved conduction through the near-connective tissue and the spread of conduction block to the region of the PVAN junction in the normal atria could create functional reentry with a functional origin near the PVAN junction in the presence of impaired conduction through the internodal/transmural conduction tissue. These observations support the hypothesis that the PVAN junction is not the true foci of AF but a potential origin site of AF. The principal findings of this study are: (1) AF was induced in the rabbit atrium by beat-to-beat stimulation of the sinus node; (2) AF was not induced in a close-to-PVAN-side direction at a stimulation frequency of 10 Hz and 20-30 Hz with double extrastimulation; (3) AF was induced in the dorsal region in the direction of the PVs after pacing the superior vena cava (SVC) with distal high frequency excitation pulses; (4) AF was induced in the PV region, even at a stimulus frequency of 40 Hz and 80 Hz with double extrastimulation; (5) the PVs were epicardialized at the time of AF induction in the PV region and conduction was blocked; and (6) bipolar pacing and high-frequency extrastimulation caused con
A British Airways plane is seen in the tarmac of Paris Le Bourget Airport, France, after reports of a bird strike, on May 27, 2012. British Airways has apologized to passengers for a delay to a flight to London Heathrow from Paris’ Charles De Gaulle airport on Saturday afternoon. The airline says the flight was delayed about 30 minutes because of a “mechanical issue” involving the pilot flying the plane. David Chapman, British Airways’ senior manager of operations in Europe, said in a statement that the plane’s captain was able to safely land the plane after the delay. The airline said it was “sorry for the inconvenience and thanks passengers for their understanding.” Passengers affected by the incident complained online that the airline blamed the delay on a bird strike.Production of pro- or anti-inflammatory cytokines by B cells from patients with systemic lupus erythematosus: does Fas ligand expression correlate with the levels of cytokines? The aim of this study was to compare the cytokine production by B cells from 15 patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and 22 patients with inactive SLE and that in 13 normal controls. A repeated stimulation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was performed in cultures of both B cells from patients and controls. The production of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, interleukin (IL)-1beta, IL-6, IL-10, and IL-6 and TNF-alpha after stimulation with LPS was higher in the B cells from the patients than in the controls. IL-6 and IL-10 levels in patients correlated with the severity of SLE as measured by the Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index. The frequency of B cells expressing Fas ligand (FasL) was not altered in patients with active SLE compared with controls. FasL-expressing B cells were present in normal controls but only rarely in SLE patients. The percentage of FasL-expressing B cells was inversely correlated with the levels of IL-6 and IL-10. We hypothesize that this relationship implies the possible role of B-cell FasL in regulation of the immune response in SLE, particularly in the pathogenesis of the cytokine imbalance.Enkephalins induce the inhibition of spontaneous alternations in mice.
