Although Photoshop is a professional-level tool, it is a relatively easy program to learn. Many professional photographers and graphic artists have begun using it as a tool for retouching or manipulating images.
Photoshop Elements
The free version of Photoshop used to be called Adobe Photoshop Elements, but it has had a major overhaul since then. Elements is more popular and is therefore more widely used, and it has become the go-to program for photo retouching and design work. This free version is Photoshop Lightroom that is built in and therefore integrated into the program. So much so that the software is simply called Photoshop Lightroom.
In Elements, you can work on multiple photos simultaneously, which you can’t do in Photoshop. Elements also has a very small file size and a large library of content, which is excellent for beginners. You can do several hundred layers of editing as opposed to the 100 layers in Photoshop.
If you want to get into advanced photo editing with Elements or Photoshop, I recommend using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements Pro or Photoshop CC (see the list of online versions earlier in this chapter).
If you own Photoshop Elements but want to be sure that you’re not missing out on anything that may not be available in the Elements version, then you can use Photoshop Creative Cloud, which is an online version of Photoshop. I describe the Adobe Creative Cloud (formerly Adobe Encore) in Chapter 10.
Adobe Photoshop Elements has a good user community, with dedicated people on the Adobe forums who are willing to help you. You can find them at `www.elements-photoshop.com`. You can also go to the Adobe support website (`www.adobe.com`) and search for Photoshop Elements.
Autodesk
Autodesk is another company that produces imaging programs. Its main imaging program is called Photoshop. However, it also produces Quick-50 and Paint Shop Pro, two programs that I have covered in detail elsewhere in this book.
Adobe gives Quick-50 a “soft” adaption and is in the process of integrating it with Lightroom (see Chapter 9) to produce a program that will integrate Quick-50 into the Lightroom workspace.

Visual Studio Extension – General template for creating a class library?
I’m trying to make a Visual Studio Extension for VS 2019.
I want to make an extension which creates a class library for the user. As soon as the user hits “C# Class Library” in the Add New Project dialog I want to know which classes the users wants to create.
After searching for the past two days on the internet, I didn’t find a single tutorial for making an extension for VS 2019 which does something like that.
Does anyone know about an extension which can help me (or do anyone know how I can create one by myself)?

Missed opportunity: Government’s new rules for ‘end of life’ treatment could save thousands of lives
Five years ago I reviewed the government’s new End of Life Care (EOLC) Rules, and their implementation as of February 2015 (Implementation of the End of Life Care (EOLC) Regulations 2015, in response to the Miller review). Now that the rules have been in force for five months, it is time to review the impact. A brief (extensive!) review follows.
This is an issue where I have experience. During my career as a hospital consultant and medical director I regularly dealt with patients who were nearing death. The rules requiring patients to be informed of their EOLC options were an innovation, and one that are not without their critics, and not necessarily universal. In any case, they come into effect five months ago and it is time to assess the impact.
The rules are about two things: communicating with patients about their wishes, and prescribing drugs for pain and symptom management.

How can i assign a shared libraries created from eglfs c files to a XCode project?
I have created the shared library from C code using eglfs. Created the project from the shared library without having to build the entire C code, instead i exported the eglfs header files and linking them to XCode and when i build it it takes the required steps and build the shared library accordingly. Is this the correct way to work with shared libraries?
I am aware that the eglfs project provides an EGL_LEVEL like enum enumeration to set the desired EGL level. But how can i relate this to the EGL_LEVEL value found in eglfs.h which depends upon the current XCode version?
I am not getting any errors while building the project, the shared libraries are getting built successfully. But when i build the app which uses these shared libraries and launch, it crashes.

Short answer: YES.
Your shared library is linked to libEGL and libGLESv2 with the usual -l eglfs stuff in linker flags.
Then to compile your app, you only need to link the shared library to your app with -lSharedLibraryName.
There is no need to recompile the shared library everytime you need to use a new Xcode version or change an enum value.
Note: You can also access any of the objects in the shared library.
