MWDictionary is a plugin that provides a set of plugins that will let you look up words at m-w.com and at spellcheck.net.
Highlight a word and click on the plugin button to look it up in the Merriam-Webster dictionary. If no text has been highlighted, simply click on the button and enter the word in a prompt window.
Use the dropdown menu to access Thesaurus and SpellCheck (at SpellCheck.net) and to load Word of the Day (new).

How To
Have you ever wanted to know what word was your.exe file is using? Have you tried using “File Info” command and it’s not what you wanted to know? Have you tried using “Strg + F” to search Google with the highlighted word? Then, m-w.com can help you with all of those.
Just click the “m-w.com” button on the toolbar and it will bring up a list of words, with their definitions and meanings. Also, you can search through the Web Dictionary.
Please test this out as I haven’t tested it myself.

For all the m-w.com buttons, you can add the m-w.com to your browsers context menu to right-click and add a menu.

Do you like to copy and paste,
or maybe type?
If you prefer the latter, try to enjoy m-w.com. For example, you can search a word. Copy the word and put it in a Word Processor, the definition and uses of the word will be automatically generated. Or, you may want to write your own definition. Go to m-w.com and paste it into the definition bar.

SmartSpellCheck is a plugin that displays the spellcheck suggestions when you highlight text with the mouse (or highlight a word with the Maxthon browser) and uses the spellcheck plug in to get a dictionary of suggested corrections.
You can also get the suggestions by clicking on the button and adding a dictionary of your choice, or by setting a dictionary in the Maxthon browser (Tools > Settings > Keyboard > Synonyms).
When a user points at text and the plugin is active, a small window will display the suggestions, and if you click to the left of the highlighted word, the plugin will open the corresponding wikipedia page.
